Yinka Shonibare's poignant installation, "Sanctuary City," explores the contested nature of refuge through illuminated miniature architectural models, tracing the historical and political complexities of sanctuary while confronting the moral imperatives of protection in an era of global displacement. Museum Educator Yasmine Vera will provide some context about the artwork, the artist's intention, and the use of material before inviting us to explore the installation on our own.

The Rose Art Museum, 415 South Street, Waltham,  offers free parking to all its visitors.

Visitors can find parking in the Rose circle at the front of the museum. If the Rose circle is full, visitors must obtain a parking pass from the museum's front desk. Visitors can then park in the Theater Parking Lot behind the Spingold Theater Center.
