Did you know April is National Poetry Month?
Join us on April 30 to hear from Heather Tressler, professor of English at Worcester State University. Heather will read excerpts from her book Auguries & Divinations, winner of the 2025 Massachusetts Book Award in poetry. She will lead us in a writing exercise, and then host an open mic for the brave among us.
In addition to Auguries and Divinations, Heather is also the author of two poetry chapbooks, Hard Bargain and Parturition. Her poems have received a Pushcart Prize, the W. B. Yeats Prize, and the poetry prize from Narrative magazine. A graduate of Brown University and the University of Notre Dame, she is a resident of Newton and a scholar at the Brandeis Women’s Studies Research Center.
