We all make mistakes, and longtime friends Michael Lynton and Joshua Steiner share how pivotal errors shaped their careers and lives, from a major Sony Entertainment decision to a personal diary caught up in the Whitewater scandal. During the isolation of the pandemic, their deeper conversations inspired them to write From Mistakes to Meaning, blending their own stories with candid interviews of influential figures, including Malcolm Gladwell. The book explores the hidden dimensions of mistakes and the universal challenge of moving beyond them. In conversation with Gladwell, Lynton and Steiner discuss how personalities drive mistakes, the difference between failures and mistakes, and how missteps can become opportunities for personal growth.
This will be the second 92nd Street Live presentation we watch together as a group, followed by a shared discussion. We hope to have a strong turnout so the conversation is engaging, thoughtful, and meaningful for everyone. We hope you'll join us.
