In the ancient world, fine ceramics were often elaborately decorated for special purposes. The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston holds examples of every major Greek vase style from 750 to the 4th century BC, from Late Geometric to White Ground. These works use narrative imagery to illustrate Greek mythology, literature, and daily life. This presentation examines the evolution of narrative art over the past 400 years.
