Welcome to Newton at Home, a non-profit membership organization founded by a small group of Newton residents who wanted to build a community of friendship and support among older Newton residents.
NAH offers a wide variety of vital services and social activities that help its members live safe, active, and connected lives in the places that mean the most to them: their homes and apartments, their neighborhood, and their city.

A Visit to the Ether Dome
The Paul S. Russell, MD Museum of Medical History and Innovation tells the rich story of Mass General through interactive media displays, artifacts and photographs. You can learn about the hospital's important contributions to the medical field, visit the famed ether dome and meet Padihershef. (Don't know who that is? Come find out!)
Join us for a docent lead tour of the museum and the Ether Dome, where the first operation with anesthesia happened.
Bus transportation will be provided from the Scandinavian Living Center
COST: $5-payable in advance to Newton at Home
- Back by popular demand, Newton at Home is pleased to announce that we have re-started our popular annual Winter Buddy program. Between December and early April, a NAH volunteer teams with a member requesting a Winter Buddy to check in when the weathermen alert us that snowfall is imminent. The Winter Buddy calls the member to ensure that the member is ready with essential supplies, has plans for snow removal, and has a charged cellphone. If you are a member interested in having a Winter Buddy or a volunteer interested in being a Winter Buddy, please contact Hannah Goldberg at the NAH office at 617-795-2560.
- Our Sock Drive for Veterans was a great success! Thanks to the generosity of Rotarians, members and volunteers of Newton at Home, and employees of The Village Bank, we were able to deliver our HUGE bags of socks to City of Newton Director of Veterans Affairs Seth Bai. It's a great feeling to support our Vets! Thanks to all of the members and volunteers who donated so generously to this cause. It is greatly appreciated.
- An update: Home Again is a collaboration of Newton at Home and other local non-profits to supply housewares (dishes, linens, small appliances, etc.) to those who need them. This is a wonderful fit for NAH members who are downsizing. Learn more.
